Use these diet to speed up your metabolism and burn off your calories faster.

Drink the white stuff
Quaffing a 250ml glass of milk three times a day revs up your metabolism. Getting your recommended fix of calcium triggers a chemical reaction that instructs the body to break down fat.
 

Don’t cut too many calories
Your body is accustomed to being at a specific weight. Then if you suddenly go and drop 1,000 calories from your existing diet, your resting metabolic rate slows down, because your body thinks it is starving. So cut out no more than 500 calories a day.

Turn down a pint
Studies have shown that drinking booze before a meal causes people to consume as much as an extra 200 calories while they eat. Your body also tends to burn alcohol calories first, so all food calories are more likely to be stored as fat.

Eat breakfast
While you are sleeping, your metabolism rests too, and it doesn’t get back to its original speed until you start eating. So if you avoid breakfast, your metabolism is slower for longer. Opt for a bowl of porridge in the mornings. Oats are loaded with high fibre carbs, take longer to digest and keep you fuller for longer.

Have a spicy treat
Hot, spicy foods temporarily boost your resting metabolic rate. A recent study revealed a compound in jalapeno and cayenne peppers that stimulates the release of adrenaline and other stress hormones. These actually speed up your metabolism and help your body burn calories quicker.
